外来魚ボックスという池の中に生息している外来魚を市民に駆除するよう即すためのボックス。特定外来生物は生きたままの移動を法律で制限しており、キャッチアンドリリースする以外にはこの外来魚ボックスに遺棄することが推奨されている。外来魚ボックスに遺棄された魚を透明樹脂で固め、循環装置であるサンルームに接続することでバクテリアが樹脂内部にある魚の肉を分解し、稲の栄養源となる。樹脂の中にはかつてあったブルーギルの空洞がだけがのこる。
An exotic fish box is used to prompt anglers to discard exotic fish from their ponds. The law prohibits the movement of specified invasive species alive, and any anglers catching them are either to release them or encouraged to abandoned them in the box.
In this work, the abandoned fish was hardened with transparent resin and connected to “Sans room”, a microbial circulation system. Inside, bacteria break down the fish meat inside the resin, which becomes a source of nutrients for rice. Only the bluegill cavities that once existed in the resin remain.
